The story

Jono is enjoying his new bike when, from the top of Lookout Hill, he sees something alarming below. Chloe is sitting quietly reading near the old quarry. Kade sneaks up behind her, pushes her over the embankment and runs away.

Jono races down to help. Chloe has badly injured her ankle, so he finds Mrs Jones and gets assistance. But when Jono later confronts Kade, the situation takes a disturbing turn.

Kade denies everything.

Worse, because Chloe didn't see who pushed her, Kade threatens to tell everyone that Jono did it. Jono is furious. He has done nothing except help Chloe, and now he is being accused of hurting her. His dad introduces him to Joseph, another young man who experienced terrible injustice despite doing what was right. Joseph's jealous brothers turned against him and eventually sold him into slavery. Meanwhile, Kade begins spreading his false version of the quarry incident, and Jack hears the accusation. Will Jack believe what he is told, or stop and investigate the facts?
