Jack is trapped by the consequences of his own bad decisions.
After choosing not to study and then cheating on his exam, Jack finds himself under increasing pressure from Kade. Kade threatens to expose Jack unless he helps him with another dishonest plan. Jono can see that something is wrong and warns Jack to be careful, but Jack continues to hide what he has done. At home, the King family continues exploring the Bible. After discovering that Adam and Eve disobeyed God and brought sin and death into the world, Jack desperately wonders whether there could be some way to rescue them, or somehow undo what they have done.
The answer introduces the central message of The Rescue.
God has a plan.
Although the consequence of sin is death, God loves humanity too much to simply abandon His children. The family discovers that Jesus has willingly agreed to give His own life so humanity can be offered another choice: rescue.
The extraordinary cost of this plan challenges the King family. Tony considers what it would mean to sacrifice his own child and begins to understand the incredible depth of God's love.
Meanwhile, Jack's own situation is becoming unbearable. His guilt, dishonesty and fear are pushing him away from the people who love him most. When his dad assures him that nothing he has done can change the fact that he is loved, Jack finally begins to understand that admitting the truth is the first step towards putting things right.
Jack confesses to his father and then tells Mr Adams that he cheated.
There will still be consequences, but for the first time since making his wrong choice, Jack is heading back in the right direction.
When Kade tries to threaten him again, Jack discovers something unexpected: telling the truth has taken away Kade's power over him.
Through Jack's experience and the unfolding biblical story, The Rescue Plan: Part 1 explores a powerful idea: making a wrong choice does not have to be the end of the story. There is a pathway back. And God has made a plan for the ultimate rescue.
