When Allie's Uncle John is critically injured by a drunk driver, Allie struggles with anger, grief and the unfairness of seeing someone she loves suffer because of another person's choice.
Meanwhile, Jack witnesses Kade bullying Chloe and unsuccessfully tries to stop him.
It seems as though hurt and bad choices are everywhere.
The children's experiences lead to difficult questions. Why does God allow people to make choices that hurt others? Why didn't He simply destroy Satan when he rebelled? And what does the battle between good and evil have to do with the decisions people make every day?
Through their families and Mr Adams, the children explore freedom of choice and God's character of love, justice and mercy.
They discover that choices have consequences, and those consequences can affect much more than the person making the choice.
